Mixing ryes and bou®bond from different bottles seems a little fussy. Most bourbons (since only 51% corn is required) start with a mash containing rye. Bulleit, for instance starts wit 28% rye. Look around and you will find a bourbon that is a blend you want in one bottle.

I am just discovering bourbon and I have to say it is deeply satisfying. One is good, 2 plenty. :-)

and why would you want only one bottle of bourbon?

I have discovered Trader Joes dried and sugared oranges. I prefer rye to bourbon but either would work. The dried orange and small amount of cherry juice sub for the sugar and at the end you get a delicious liquor infused treat. Great sipping drink. One orange slice One Luxardo cherry 2 dashes bitters 1/4 tsp Luxardo cherry juice from the jar 2 oz rye or bourbon Large ice cube or ball

AHW I'm coming to yer house, haha! I discovered Luxardos about 2 years and they are an absolute game changer. I actually found a DIY copycat recipe. Takes 15 days start to finish but boy are they yummy. Now all my bourbon and rye drinks get a little drip of cherry syrup, either Lux or Faux. I need to find those oranges!

I know it is fashionable to use sugar syrup these days, but i really like coming across some crispy granular loveliness at the end of the drink.

So lovely, I replaced the syrup with maple syrup and it was divine! Absolutely smooth with so little fuss.
