Yield:1 drink.
  • 2ounces Aperol
  • ¾ounce grapefruit juice
  • ½ounce St.-Germain liqueur
  • 2ounces Champagne, or to taste
  • Grapefruit twist

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Pour Aperol, grapefruit juice and St.-Germain into a cocktail shaker. Shake well.

  2. Step 2

    Fill a highball glass with ice, and pour in contents of shaker. Top with Champagne and add grapefruit twist.

This was a fantabulous beverage! Step 1) Needs to be lots of ice in that shaker. Use fresh squeezed juice, of course. I added a splash more juice because it is citrus season and grapefruit is particularly yummy. Step 2) This is cold to hang on to, so I used a stemmed Riedel Bordeaux glass with lots of ice (a la Venetian Spritz) instead of highball. Festive and practical. Ingredients are staples at our house so this will be on rotation for holidays and beyond.

Really good. I might try with another amaro next time.

This was awesome. I used a pomelo and I think it melded even better than a grapefruit!

Did not have grapefruit, so substituted half lemon and half lime instead, and it still tasted pretty good.
