In the zero time when clocks were running early and it was getting late, the Old Man would sit at the El Floridita in Havana, hold court, and throw this majestic concoction back one after the other. He had the bartenders double the recipe, of course, to match his outsized girth and ego. El Papa Doble was born.

Just made this. Had to sub Italian grapefruit soda for grapefruit juice (as I was out).........OUTSTANDING!!! Makes sense that my most favorite writer perfected this perfect cocktail ;-)
