I’m always tossing watermelon with fresh mint, so I decided to see how the two would blend in a smoothie. The result is like a cross between a sweet mint tea and a watermelon agua fresca.

This would be great with a shot of gin.

if you have good watermelon this need absolutely no sugar! also can sub basil for the mint and it's just as refreshing.

I like a squeeze of lime to this as well.

Adding 1 tablespoon of lime was divine, and as I used chilled watermelon, I didn't even add the ice cubes. nor did I add any sweetener.--rrally hit the spot in a refreshing, hydrating. and simple way on a hot summer day. Ridiculously easy to make, and summer's natural internal air-conditioning.

Bought a large watermelon that wasn't as flavorful as I expected. This is a wonderful way to enjoy it. I probably used 1/4 teaspoon sugar, lots of mint. Used the immersion blender. Love it.

I make this regularly during the hot summers. No need for simple syrup unless you like your drinks very sweet. I've made this with varying ratio of mint and basil - depending on what was fresh from the garden. You can also add in a splash of juice that you have on hand if you need to thin it out. Or add more ice to make it through a 100+ degree day.
