Sounds delightful, but can I put some watermelon in a blender to make the juice? (I don't own a juicer.) If so, should I strain it? I love anything with elderflower liqueur.
I've tried making cocktails with watermelon juice (vitamix to puree the fruit chunks), but you have to let it settle to filter the juice that rises above the pulp. You can leave it too, but it won't look nice in your glass after awhile.
Trader Joe's! And this time of year they sell the watermelon cucumber cooler - delicious with gin. Stock up - it's a seasonal item only
Added puréed strawberries as well to the blended watermelon as I had some extra and skipped the simple syrup. Really delightful and wonderful on a hot summer night when you just need a touch of alcohol. Very refreshing!
This is a lovely, light alcohol drink for a hot day. Used a purchased watermelon/lemon juice blend, increased the elderflower liqueur a bit and skipped the simple syrup. Added a sprig of mint as garnish and topped off with some sparkling water.
I made this with store-bought watermelon juice because I don't have the patience or tools to juice a watermelon, and I switched the sauvignon blanc for a sparkling rose based on the suggestion of another commenter and my personal preference. It was a huge hit at my Fourth of July party!
