  • 2ounces Old Overholt Rye
  • ¾ounces Vya Sweet Vermouth
  • ¾ounces Massaman Syrup
  • Angostura bitters
  • Piece of orange rind

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Combine rye, vermouth and syrup over ice. Stir for 30 seconds, or until very well chilled. Strain into a lowball glass. Top with four dashes of bitters. Garnish with a nickel-sized coin of orange rind.

This is very sweet. For the second round, I used the syrup to make an Old Fashioned. Much better!

A fantastic (yet quite sweet) cocktail; well worth preparing the Massaman Syrup - just search for it on the site. I used Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye and plain old Martini & Rossi sweet vermouth.
