You can't "wash off the pesticides": if the food is not organic, the pesticides are persistent and you ingest them
This is the worst cocktail I ever had. My mom was over and I wanted to zone out a bit but this really didn't work for me. Next time I will try adding vodka.
A 2014 USDA report found residue from 40 types synthetic pesticides on organic produce at comparable levels to conventionally grown produce. Organic just means use of "natural" pesticides vs synthetic pesticides. Natural pesticides are just as carcinogenic as chemical pesticides. Worse, it takes more than three times the application of a natural pesticides like rotenone-pyrethrin to do the work of a chemical pesticide. Organic is a marketing ploy.
OOOOh, it cost enough that I'll have to drink it. Just aweful. Don't put in any of the peels, way too bitter. Someone's suggestion to add ice is a good one, and add a jalapeno pepper to give it some green heat.
This is a delicious green juice! It’s easy to over do the citrus flavor when adding both a lemon and lime. I would recommend peeling most of the skin off a small lime and small lemon when you first make it. If you want more citrus, then you can leave all the skin on next time.
Delicious! I cut the peel off the lemon and lime so it wouldn’t be too bitter. Love the spiciness of the ginger. It’s just sweet enough. I think next time I’ll use mint instead of cilantro as I keep getting a slight aftertaste reminiscent of pico de gallo.
