Very refreshing and subtly festive. One tip: add the cloves to the muddled kumquat before topping with ice, else the cloves float at the top and you’ll continuously be fishing them out of your teeth.

This drink is delicious! It's equally as refreshing without the gin on nights when you don't feel like having alcohol, too.

Excellent drink. Perfect on a hot summer day!

It is kumquat season in mid February and just over 40 degree high daytime temperature.  While G&T is a fav summer libation for my husband and me, not one we think of this time of year but the kumquats drew us in.  Made sans gin this time (even if we were to add it the 3 oz specified for 1 drink would have been 2-much for either 1 of us) divided between 2 bistro glasses and it was just right.  Straws are necessary to avoid sipping up floating cloves. :-) We ate the tonic soaked 'quats to finish.
