Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Grate the zest from the orange and set aside. Remove the white pith and seeds and cut the orange into sections.

  2. Step 2

    Place the zest, orange sections, cranberries, ginger, cilantro and jalapeno in a food processor. Pulse just until cranberries are coarsely chopped. Stir in maple syrup. Cover and let stand for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Really didn't like this unfortunately. The raw ginger mixed with the other ingredients left a soapy taste. Tried to cook it a bit to mellow it out but didn't work.

How far in advance can this be made? Day before okay?

Yes, that is fine. I've been making this for 30 years, and it's fabulous. It will keep for a couple of days in the fridge.
