  1. Step 1

    Cook coarse-chopped slab bacon in neutral oil until done; add cooked rice, chopped scallions, minced ginger and garlic; cook until rice begins to brown. Crack in 1 or 2 eggs, and continue to stir; finish with soy sauce.

This is good for a basic recipe, but I'd recommend adding all the leftover soft-cooked veggies in your fridge. It uses up leftovers and adds depth to the flavor of the fried rice. Oh, and add any leftover meat, shredded or diced, to make it a whole meal!

I added shredded cabbage and carrots to this and it was divine! A great way to use leftover veggies too.

Bacon gives only pork fat, not "all sorts of fat". Bacon, like pancetta, needs neutral oil to be cooked properly. Try. Experiment and you will see the difference.

Super yummy! I made this for a potluck, and everyone raved over it and asked for the recipe.

I added shredded cabbage and carrots to this and it was divine! A great way to use leftover veggies too.

Added a 1/2 cup of chopped kimchi rinsed and chopped and 1/4 chopped sweet onion made it extra tasty.
