you can use honey instead of condensed milk. I find condensed milk too sickly sweet for my taste. I am brazilian and we use honey to sweeten our batidas and caipirinhas. healthier than condensed milk too.
Works with vodka If you don’t have cachaça
Used Thai coconut creme, which has no sugar. Condensed milk was plenty sweet, and easy to adjust. Used about 2x the passionfruit (fresh) to balance the coconut. It's a passioncolada. Goes down easy (watch out!)
I did this three ways, as written, with honey substituted for sweetened condensed milk, and one with sweetened condensed milk and liked them all. We liked the one with honey alone the least, but wasn’t enough to keep us from making it again. A good substitute if you don’t have the sweetened condensed milk on hand. Also, it was good virgin (without cachaca) too. The kids loved it.
