  • 3ounces of gin
  • ½ounce of dry vermouth
  • Green olive

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Chill a 7-ounce martini glass by filling with ice and water. Fill a professional bartender's glass, or a tall 16-ounce glass, two-thirds full with ice.

  2. Step 2

    Add gin and vermouth to the bartender's glass, and stir with a long-necked spoon, keeping the spoon close to the side of the glass as you swirl the ice.

  3. Step 3

    Stir until the glass frosts, about 20 seconds. Empty the martini glass, and strain the contents of the bartender's glass into it. Garnish with olive.
