The Queen was onto something here: a 1 to 1 lets the gin completely overpower the Dubonnet, which is still sweeter and less bitter than the Euro version. What I liked the best was: preserving the Queen's 2 to 1 of D to gin, subbing her preferred lemon wedge for a half part of lemon juice (1/2oz for me), adding a couple drops of saline to balance the sweetness of the D, and either stirring it and garnishing with a lemon twist or dropping the spent lemon rind into a shaker and shaking.
A perfect summer cocktail.
Delightfully soft and flavorful. Perfect for a spring evening before dinner. Takes all your cares away.
