Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Combine all ingredients except salt and ground pepper in a medium saucepan, and bring just about to a boil. Turn the heat a little lower, and simmer, uncovered, 10 to 20 minutes. Strain, taste and adjust seasonings.

  • Use in highly seasoned soups, like those flavored with curry or chilies.
