Preparation

    Place dried plums, apricots, lemon and cinnamon stick in a pot with 3 cups of orange juice or to cover fruit.

  2. Step 2

    Bring to boil over high heat, turn heat to low and simmer, uncovered, about 15 minutes.

Cutting the apricots in half allows them to soften more evenly. Also works with just water in place of juice.

I learned a version of this from my sister that uses half orange juice and half strong black or earl grey tea. No lemon, but other warm spices like clove and allspice along with the cinnamon stick. I really love to eat it with yogurt.
