Ingredients
- 1ounce London Dry-style gin
- 1ounce Campari
- 1ounce sweet vermouth
- Orange twist, for garnish
Preparation
- Step 1
Fill a mixing glass with ice and add gin, Campari and sweet vermouth. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

The Negroni is indeed a classic, and to quote David Wondrich, is "one of the world's indispensable cocktails". I raise my glass to you for including it.
My only quibble is with the naming of the drink "Rosie Schaap’s Negroni". I suppose it is ok to name a drink after one's self, however in order to name a drink anything at all one must first create a new variation or a new drink. The drink shown here is the classic recipe. Its name is simply: "Negroni".
I prefer 2:2:2 myself!
You may prefer a 3:2:2 ratio...but that is not a Negroni. A Negroni is 1:1:1.
I prefer a wee bit extra of the Sweet vermouth. Otherwise, it’s perfectly yummy!
My favorite version is with Antica Formula Vermouth, and one small drop of orange oil on top...
I agree with the below reviewer; I thought that this would be some variation on a negroni. I have no idea why an individual's name is in this recipe.
