Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Start a charcoal or gas grill, or heat a broiler. The fire should not be too hot, and the rack should be about 4 inches from the heat source.

  2. Step 2

    Combine all ingredients except lemon in a food processor, and pulse on and off until meat is ground. Shape into burgers, and grill about 8 minutes total for rare meat, turning once. Squeeze lemon juice over burgers and serve on toasted buns.

I think I'd use a meat grinder next time, rather than the food processor, for better texture. Terrific taste, though!

I easily doubled the amount of cumin for 1 pound of ground lamb. I also added chopped mint to the burgers and served with Greek yogurt.

Great recipe. Since ground lamb is readily available, I just add it to puréed onions and mix all ingredients by hand. I sometimes include thyme and crushed fennel seeds and make sliders. So yummy

Brilliant recipe- so easy! Served with lentil salad with mint and chèvre and grilled zucchini.
