Ingredients
- 1½cups full-fat plain Greek yogurt (12 ounces)
- 8ounces hot-smoked trout or salmon fillets, skin and bones removed, fish flaked into small pieces (see Tip)
- ¼cup thinly sliced dill fronds and stems, plus more for serving
- 2teaspoons lemon zest (from 1 large lemon)
- 2tablespoons lemon juice
- 2teaspoons everything-bagel seasoning (store-bought or homemade), plus more for serving
- Black pepper
- Raw or pickled vegetables, such as cucumbers, radishes and tomatoes; chips or crackers; gigante beans or hard-boiled eggs, for serving
Preparation
- Step 1
In a medium bowl, stir together the yogurt, trout, dill, lemon zest and juice and everything-bagel seasoning. Season with black pepper. (The fish and bagel seasoning are both salty, so you likely won’t need additional salt.)
- Step 2
Spoon into a serving bowl and top with more everything-bagel seasoning, black pepper and dill. Eat with any mix of dippers. (It keeps in the fridge for up to 4 days, but season again with lemon, salt and pepper before eating.)
- Hot-smoked fish, also labeled smoke-roasted, is the fully-cooked, firm, vacuum-packed fish found near the cold-smoked salmon. If using hot-smoked mackerel, use 4 ounces.

Using non-fat Greek yogurt makes this a Zero Point WW meal, and does not significantly impact mouth feel or taste. I use NF Greek yogurt as a substitute for mayonnaise in my tuna salad and can have a creamy delicious food high in protein low on fat and extremely satisfying.
Add finely chopped capers & red onions!
Trader Joe’s has an Everything Bagel Spice Blend!
This has 0 flavor. It tastes like lemon flavored yogurt.
I used 1/2 non fat Greek yogurt and 1/2 whipped cream cheese. We were happy with the taste and texture.
This was a great lunch alternative and the flavors were spot on, but next time I will drain the yogurt prior to adding, and maybe add 2 tbsp of mayo to thicken up the texture a bit. After sitting in the fridge for a few hours, it loses its structure, gets kinda watery, and in need of a good stir to reincorporate everything. Red onions (raw or pickled) and capers would be a great addition to this as well!
