Ingredients
- Kosher salt
- 1pound smoked sausage, such as kielbasa, sliced ½-inch-thick
- 1tablespoon neutral oil, such as canola or vegetable oil
- 1cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 6garlic cloves, minced
- 1cup chicken broth or seafood stock
- 2½teaspoons seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay
- 1½teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- ½teaspoon red-pepper flakes, or to taste
- 2tablespoons lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
- 1(16-ounce) box linguine
- 1pound lump crab meat
- 1recipe sheet-pan shrimp boil
- 1tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves
Preparation
- Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to boil for the pasta.
- Step 2
As the water heats, in a Dutch oven or pot, sear sausage in oil over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until the sausage browns, about 5 minutes. Transfer the sausage to a plate to drain, and discard pan drippings.
- Step 3
Add butter to the pot. When it melts, add garlic and sauté until fragrant. (Be careful not to burn the garlic.)
- Step 4
Stir in broth, and add seafood seasoning, Cajun seasoning, red-pepper flakes and lemon juice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook about 5 minutes, then taste and adjust for seasonings. Set aside ½ cup garlic broth for serving.
- Step 5
Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Step 6
Add crab meat to the broth and gently stir until heated through. Add pasta and toss with tongs until evenly coated. Pour pasta into large serving bowl, then top with sausage and the sheet-pan shrimp boil. Drizzle the reserved garlic broth on top of the mixture. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Have printed and made many of your recipes.....tweaking some, always pleased with the result. I notice that this particular recipe calls for two ingredients that are not listed at all in the preparation. Perhaps you'd care to comment on the missing sweet corn and potatoes. Thank you.
Made this tonight basically as written and it was delicious! Halved the recipe and the crab meat was a pricey $25—could probably do without next time and not miss it too much. The finished butter garlic broth was amazing...only adjustment I made was to fortify the chicken broth by boiling it for a few minutes with the shrimp tails from the sheet pan recipe. Will definitely make again!
Those are in the Sheet-Pan Shrimp Boil listed second to last in the ingredient list. That recipe is prepared separately and added to this recipe in Step 6. If you need the shrimp boil recipe, click on “sheet-pan shrimp boil” in the ingredient list.
Gave myself a large burn on the arm while cooking this, but I’m not even mad because it came out so delicious! It makes a ginormous amount of food, so I’ll definitely cut it in half the next time I make it.
Crab and shrimp duo is a fantastic idea! I loved the recipe. It is a high-heat recipe and I think ghee will be a perfect choice for the recipe. The unique flavor of ghee will boost the flavor and increase the nutritional value. Also,Organic ghee has a higher boiling point than any other vegetable oils.
FYI, the corn and potatoes are in the sheet pan shrimp boil.
