These were a total disaster. We have cooked so many NYT recipes and never occurred to us to check the reviews to see if this one was reliable. It wasn’t. Agree with the reviewer who said that something is fundamentally wrong with the recipe. Waffles did not rise. They were a flat, soggy mess that burned where they touched the indents in the waffle maker.

Even extending this recipe with more milk and flour barely yielded three waffles. The dog was disappointed.

To make Gluten Free, I used 6TB butter, 2/3 cup GF flour and folded in whipped 3 egg whites. Worked wonderfully! Made 2 Belgian waffles.

These came out crazy. More like funnel cakes than waffles. Would’ve been fine for dessert but not what I was looking for this morning.

I don’t know how this recipe got 4 stars. The proportions are off, and it doesn’t produce anything resembling a proper waffle.

Not sure what this recipe is but it's not for waffles. Almost ruined a Sunday morning until I saw some of the measurements and ratios.
