Have you read the ingredients in Nutella?

This is my "go to" dessert for when company pops in (or used to - no so much anymore with Covid virus). EVERYONE has bread, salt, chocolate and olive oil in the house all the time. It's genius! ALMOST as genius as my favorite salad, arugula, chopped fresh pear, lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper. VOILA!

This isn't like Nutella (the sugary & other additives as a spread). This is a lovely chocoholic appetizer. You can make it more delicate with thin bias-cut baguette slices (& reduce your baking time accordingly). I have used Vosges Chipotle-Chili Super Dark Chocolate (74%) as the planed chocolate and that adds an extra flavor boost which is yum!

Let’s give proper credit- this is a recipe from Ferran Adria’s cookbook: The Family Meal. It is simple and delicious and comes in very handy when you’ve got a sweet tooth and not much in the way of ingredients in the cupboard.
